Tue 03 Dec 2002 04:42:12 PM UTC, original submission:

It would be really handy if make would print out
sort of a stack trace of goals it was trying to make,
when it fails to build something, for whatever
reason (command error, or unsatisfied dependency).
This would help our users understand better what is going
on if a build fails.
