More than 10 years old. This seems as something that was likely fixed long time ago. If it's still problem, please provide more info - versions of software, encoding etc. Closing for now.

Is this still a problem? And can you provide those screenshots again (perhaps as attachments)?

When I run screen
- on NetBSD 1.6.2 (other operating systems work well)
- in an xterm (other terminal emulators work well)
- and run the Midnight Commander inside it (other applications work well),
I reproducably get the wrong character set using the following actions:

open an xterm on NetBSD-1.6.2 and type "screen mc":

press "enter":

press C-a, C-c:
a new shell appears

press C-a, C-a:

press F-10 to quit the Midnight Commander:

press C-d to quit the shell:

I have provided an I/O trace of the actions. Which other info do you need?
