Many thanks for tracking the problem down, making a patch and passing this along. The patch has been applied in CVS so it should be part of the 0.7.24 release.

Certain VCD 2.0 discs cause xine (which uses vcdimager to access VCDs) to exhaust memory and crash.  I've attached a fix.
