Subtitles is a private stream in the MPEG. At present VCDImager doesn't have any tools for multiplexing MPEG streams. There are other MPEG stream tools that however may do this.

Also closed captioning.  This is refered to in the manual
VCD spec and that's it!

VCDImager is a great product, and so many of us
appreciate all of the work that has been spent on this
superior software.

Is there any possibility that, someday in the future,
VCDImager will support subtitles?  To the best of my
knowledge, I-Author is the only SVCD imaging software
that supports SVCD subtitles.  I-Author is
unfortunately old and even difficult to aquire
legally.  Besides, VCDImager is superior.  But, many
many people would greatly appreciate if VCDImager did
one day support subtitles, if this is a possibility. 
I would imagine that this is especially true for non-
native-english speakers.
