Damn, this was posted as a patch instead of a bug. I wonder how this ended up happening.

Nano must have some locking, to prevent two users (or nano instances)
editing the same file.
Much like vi does.

Vim does this checking for its .swp file, but creating a lock file in nano might be a bit over the top for nano's scope.

I'm forwarding this to see what Chris thinks, and if this is WONTFIX, I'll just close the Debian bug.
