I agree with this enhancements as I am using GNU BG to learn and having an automatically updating hint window open would be very helpful. I would suggest having it be a panel instead of a floating window so it would be easier to see and not in the way.

I use GNU BG to learn how to play. So after each roll where there is not an obvious move, I push the hints button to see the best choice. Or if I made a good choice after I move.

I would like the option to keep the hints splash up on the screen and have it offer my current choices (and the machine) to see the moves and probabilities as I roll and move.
