Sat 29 Jan 2022 09:53:19 AM UTC, original submission:   To reproduce, run: src/nano --ignore -x README Then record a macro like this: <Shift+Alt+:> ^W the <Enter> xx <End> <Shift+Alt+:> Now execute the macro once with <Alt+;>.  See how for one second and a half "xxt" is spotlighted, after the typed "xx".  Then the spotlighting is dropped and the cursor appears at the end of the line.  If needed, execute the macro a few more times, slowly.
