I'm seeing this same behavior with GRUB EFI being loaded by UEFI PXE Netboot on a Gigabyte GA-B75N motherboard.
I've tried the latest 2.06 tag, and the latest 2.11 version from master git, with the same results.

Loading grub using Legacy Bios Mode PXE works perfectly, without freezing.

But when loading from UEFI PXE, it freezes the moment the menu shows up, and the timer doesn't change.

The machine doesn't even respond to crtl+alt+del.

If I set the menu timeout to 0 (essentially disabling the menu), grub works perfectly and boots whatever menu option I leave as default without problem.

I tried setting some "sleep" commands in the grub.cfg, and it does wait and continues without problem.

It's just when it shows the menu and waits for the timeout/key input that grub freezes.

Notebook: HP Spectre x360 15 eb0013nf, Intel Core i7-10750H, 16GB RAM, 1TB m2 SSD.

New OpenSuSE LEAP 15.3 installation, default grub and filesystem setup during installation. Secure boot in Bios disabled and enabled (I tried boths), also secure boot in Grub during installation disabled and enabled (again - I tried both) - all with the same result.

Also I tried to install older OpenSuSE (15.2) and also Ubuntu 20 - all these behave the same.

Windows boot well on the NTB fgrom m2 drive. When booted from USB flash (various Linux distributions - for  example sysrescue or OPenSuSE installation) and choosing "Boot from hard drive", sometimes boot well (i.e. grub apears and behaves as expected), but mostly aůso freezes.
