Fixed in git, commit e0442849, by excluding "normal" from the range of color names that take a prefix -- after some refactoring to make this change easy.

To reproduce, run:

echo 'extendsyntax default icolor lightnormal "the"' >>~/.nanorc
src/nano +1 README

On an Xfce Terminal each "the" seems to be slightly darker than the surrounding text.  (On a Linux console each "the" is indeed lighter.)

Anyway, "lightnormal" should not be accepted as a valid color name.  But "bold, normal" and "italic, normal" are fine.
