Grouping six other bugs under this one, as they all result in poor status-bar behavior:

bug #60508 -- the minibar getting in the way
bug #60510 -- the cursor being present on the status bar
bug #60516 -- the number of replacements not getting shown
bug #60518 -- the "only occurence" message not getting shown
bug #60563 -- constant-cursor display getting in the way
bug #60582 -- any startup error not getting shown

Fixed in git, commit 8d974cd2, by waiting for a keystroke for 8 or 15 deciseconds and then repainting the contents of the edit window and reactivating the cursor (when the terminal has just one row).

To reproduce, make your terminal one row high and then run:

src/nano --ignore NEWS

Now type Alt+Home.  Nano says "Unbound key".  But this message stays onscreen until the next keystroke.  As the comment on bug #59188 said, it would be nicer if such messages would be shown only for roughly a second, after which the text of the buffer is automatically show again.  It should be easy to make this now: we already have the 'timed' mechanism while waiting for a keystroke.
