I've attached two images showing the difference between a normal terminal and a terminal running gnu screen. The differences are quite clear.

When I paste U+1f9e1 into gnu screen in a terminal session the cursor will leap back onto the character rather than staying in front. If I just use a regular non screen terminal session the error does not occur. It also eventually seems to corrupt the display with TUI programs.
