Another manifestation can be seen when running:

  src/nano --ignore README

Then type: M-6 ^K ^U ^U ^U...

Each ^U pastes two lines instead of just one (the one that was deleted with ^K).  The other way around (^K M-6) works fine: a ^U pastes just one line.

The offending commit is 71f85937, "cut: concentrate the logic for clearing the cutbuffer mostly in one place".

To reproduce, run 'src/nano --ignore --nonew'.
Then type: xx M-6 M-6 M-6 ^K M-U

See how instead of putting back the "xx" that were cut by the ^K, the M-U puts back "xxxxxxxx".

Bug exists since version 3.0.
