bug #55535: switching to another buffer cancels a Shift selection

To reproduce, run 'nano NEWS README', then type <Shift+Down> a few times.  Then type M-> twice, and see that the region that was selected is no longer selected.

Expected behavior: switching between buffers does not cancel any Shift selection, because the cursor did not move, and there was no intent to move the cursor either.
