There is no setting in gnubg to play such a variation.

There are one point matches where gammons and backgammon don't count but since you mentionned playing with the cube I suppose you are aware of this and it is not what you wish.

I am not eager to add such an option and the required code to play such a specific variant.

What could work, without changing gnubg itself, is to prepare a specially crafted weights file, where all those used for the gammon and backgammon outputs are set to zero. This would be a bit awkward, needing two installations, one with the regular weights and one with the special ones.

This is an excellent software to improve my level of backgammon, I am very happy with it.
I want to know if it can be configured to play with the cube but without gammon / backgammon.
