and sorry I posted it originally as 'Human against Computer'. That was incorrect. I develop software myself, and I hate it when users do that to me... :-/

Hello Philippe,
yes, that is exactly what I meant.
I just tried it again, with a new instance, to make sure nothing previously done affects it.
I am using human against human, though - I use that often to analyze games I played, I set critical situations up, and check what the computer thinks (under Hint) about my moves.
So Human-Human, manual roll. Move anywhere, then double for the second player, accept. Go to edit mode, change checkers around, set the cube back to 64, with that click, all edits are undone.

Thanks for looking at it!

Will

I cannot reproduce this. Here is what I do, can you confirm this is what you mean or explain the difference ?

New match, GNU Backgammon vs. Human, Manual dice
31 for it, it plays 6/5 8/5
I double, it takes
Dice panel pops up, I select a roll
Edit
Move one of its checkers from its 6 to its 5 point
Set the cube to 64, centered
Out of edit mode

Nothing special happens. The checkers on opponents 5 and 6 points are left as 3 and 3, the cube centered at 64.

I don't doubt there are situations where what you describe happens (I stumbled on this position resetting behaviour occasionally) but I never investigated them or even took note of the exact sequences that caused them.

1. start to play a game against the computer
2. double the cube, accept
3. click on Edit
4. edit the position in any way
5. edit the cube back to 64/centered
Bug: The edited position gets reset to what is was before the editing, all changes are lost. Can be very annoying...

This bug existed already 0.90, but is still there in 1.04
