Hello,

-B is supposed to work with files specified trough -i -F.

You can achieve your desired result with this shell expansion:

wget http://doc.bazaar.canonical.com/bzr.2.1/downloads/{bzr-developers-html.tar.bz2,bzr-developers-chm,bzr-en-html.tar.bz2}

if I want to download multiple files or pages from a website,
my logical action would be to set the base prefix with -B and specify the pages I need on the command line.

This doesn't work -- the URL's on the command line ignore the base-prefix set on the command line.

Example: (all one line)
wget -B http://doc.bazaar.canonical.com/bzr.2.1/downloads/ bzr-developers-html.tar.bz2 bzr-developers-chm bzr-en-html.tar.bz2

Instead of downloading the requested files, I get:
http://bzr-developers-html.tar.bz2/:
12:47:28 ERROR 503: Service Unavailable.
http://bzr-developers-chm/:
12:47:28 ERROR 503: Service Unavailable.
http://bzr-en-html.tar.bz2/:
12:47:28 ERROR 503: Service Unavailable.
