If you can provide any details then please do.

distribution
screen version
terminal emulator (and version of it) you use
how big selection are we talking about? (xclip -o |wc -c)
does string you paste contain any special characters?
how are you performing paste? (middle mouse button, ctrl+v, something else?)

Can confirm, this happens in a session with nano open pasting a large selection. Freezes screen and session is not recoverable.

Original bug report is 10 years old.
Not enough details provided and pasting seems to work fine.

It would be terrific if we could get either or both of:
1. A backtrace from the crash
2. Sample content whose paste would sometimes crash screen.

While pasting into nano within a screen session, the results are highly unstable. It seems as if the pasted selection is too large, nano and screen will lock up, after which the session becomes impossible to restore:

[kaneda@kaneda]<~> screen -list
Your inventory:
29450.pts-0.kaneda (Attached)
1 Socket in /var/run/screen/S-kaneda.
[kaneda@kaneda]<~> screen -d 29450
(nothing happens, ctrl+c)
[kaneda@kaneda]<~> screen -x 29450
(nothing happens, ctrl+c)
[kaneda@kaneda]<~> top
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
29450 kaneda 25 0 10044 9324 9056 R 97.1 1.8 62:13.32 screen

I have duplicated this on several Gentoo systems (from 2004.2 to 2005.0), and two Slackware systems (9 and 10), and many versions of both screen and nano including latest. However the crash is sporadic, with the only contigious factors being pasting a large buffer into nano within a screen session.
