Oops, we forgot the copyright notice in one file. Here it comes again!

sorry,

No problem. Here's the modified MingMods archive.

> At first about "truenolejano, tinpenguin (C) 2005":

TinPenguin is one of us, he simply prefers not to use his real name in the project (anyhow, we've got participation papers signed by him with his legal name).

soon,
Billy Bob

Hello again...

didn't see that you attached a file to this tracker item, sorry. :-(

Your file looks okay, but the MingMod documentation lack information about copyright+license. You can have a look at what I've said about the GNU FDL.

Sorry, my fault. :(

Hello.

At first about "truenolejano, tinpenguin (C) 2005":
Is the copyright holder refered to in the copyright notices, a legal entity that can be assigned copyright?
If not, you need to add the author(s)' name(s) instead.

Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html
for more information, and update your files.

At second, your documentation in MingMods/doc lacks information about copyright and license.

If you would like to use the GNU FDL:
In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the FDL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the title page of each work.

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL
(available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats) as a section of your works , and as plain text in a file named 'COPYING' (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt).

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points, including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

At third, MingZine.py has got invalid copyright information and its documentation lacks copyright+license notices, too.

At fourth, the same for the TheMingServer's documentation.

And last but not least (once more!):
The address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-1301 USA

Please update your license notices.

Updates versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

Ok, here it comes. It contains all we plan to upload to cvs: many things were removed because they're probably going to be rewritten from scratch (old docs, demo sites)! The code is all there though. :)

(If possible, put it all in one package ;) Thanks)

Hi! Never mind the delay. We're going to correct all the imperfections you pointed out. When we're done we'll post a new comment with the packages attached, alright?

soon,
billy bob

Hello. I'm sorry for the long delay, but there are too much work at the moment for us, sorry for the inconvience.

At first, "truenolejano, tinpenguin (C) 2005" is invalid, also
"Copyright (C) $YEAR by $AUTHOR - truenolejano@yahoo.com".

Please have a look at http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html, which says: "Copyright (C) year1, year2, year3  copyright-holder".

At second, for the images (.jpg,.png) please include a README file in their directories and write there license+copyright notices down.

At third, you should relase your "MingZine Documentation" under the GNU FDL, to do so please include license+copyright notices in the file. :-)
(See previous comment for more details).

At last, the address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Updates versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

Hi Sebastian!
Yes, we'd like to publish each and every tarball linked in the request (except for one).
Here's a more detailed explanation of what their content is:

1) TheMingServer-0.7.6.tar.gz - this is the actual server code, together with a small sample data tree (this latter may be left out of cvs, but it will likely be part of any downloadable package we'll provide);
2) MingMods-0.2.3.tar.gz - these are additional modules for the Ming server: they contain the code and templates for publishing different kinds of digital properties (short stories, serialized novels, etc.) and making them available to the final user through PayPal;
3) MingBlogServer-0.1.1.tar.gz - this is an additional blog engine, conceived to work on top of The Ming Server or as a stand-alone cgi application as well;
4) MingZine-0.3.2.tar.gz - this package's functionality is now included inside the main Ming Server package, so it won't be uploaded to cvs (our mistake).

Sebastian, if you want to have a better idea of all this you can visit our official Ming site (still under restyling; also, the online documentation is not up-to-date):

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Which is the code you want to publish on Savannah? Every content of the tarballs?

Please notice:
In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL,
available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.
To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

And for your documentation:
In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the FDL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the title page of each work.

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL
(available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats)
as a section of your works , and as plain text in a file named 'COPYING' (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt).

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points,
including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

-----

Description:
------------
The core of the Ming project is a lightweight cgi-based python application, whose function is that of serving a variety of dynamic content through the web. The server, together with its additional modules, is especially suited for allowing the direct connection of digital artists to their audience through PayPal.
The server can generate web pages statically or dynamically.  As a local
executable, it generates a static site from a directory tree of simple
text files.  Installed in cgi-bin, it creates those same pages on
demand, in response to browser requests.  Parsing of different source
types, the creation, and the writing of pages are separated, making it
easy to extend The Ming Server to new data types or delivery methods.
