Hi,

We did not get a response from you, so we deleted your project from the pending queue.

If you would still like to have your project hosted at Savannah, please register it again.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgment of your earlier registration will direct
you to the proper location where you can re-register your project.

Regards.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project.
You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah?
If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards.

Hello and sorry but I don't see any changes.

For example dev_sgd/build.sh has got the old FSF address and no copyright notice.
Another example: dev_sgd/build_floppy.sh no license/copyright notice.

You see? Please go ahead and check all of your files again and fix missing copyright+license notices and change the FSF address if possible.

Regards :-/

The code written by me is found at: dev_sgd folder. dev_lsb folder is also written by me although you should not read it. And dev_doc is a documentation folder with a dev blog.

There are also minor changes on dev_grub but as long as there are the original grub copyrights I have not added anything about copyright.

>I see several files which has got license notices but looses the >copyright notices. You should add these lines, too.

I will check that.

The FSF address has changed... you could have a P.O. BOX like an email redirector. :)

I will try to fix this also. I had not received this into my mail due to mail problems... this is why I answer so late.

Hello.

Where is your source code (the code written by you) located in the tarball? :-/

I see several files which has got license notices but looses the copyright notices. You should add these lines, too.
See also http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

Then the address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Updates versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

The tarball with Linux renamed to Gnu/Linux can be found at:
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=42

What I have renamed is dev_sgd folder. dev_grub is GNU GRUB source code so it should be ok. dev_lsb is like an old copy of dev_sgd so you should not read it and then there's the doc folder which I do not know if Linux is written as Linux or as Gnu/Linux...

but if you decide to run ./test_all_sgd.sh from inside dev_grub you will see that the resultant SGD run inside Qemu has every Linux set to Gnu/Linux.

I've already changed: Linux to Gnu/Linux on webpages
I've changed from gif to png all the images from webpage.
In .lst I have not added the GPL statement because they were very little.
Every .sh has the GPL statement because I remember I alwas copied-pasted this GPL statement when editing new files.

Is there anything left?

I've changed from Linux to Gnu/Linux on these webpages:

http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-index.php?page=En
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-index.php?page=EnCurrentFeatures

If my stupid tikiwiki let's me edit I will also change it on:
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-index.php?page=EnDevRoadmap

A tarball? I don't know if I'll be able of sending it before Friday (today is Wednesday here). If I cannot send it you "cut" the submission and I'll try to send it again when everything is ready.

Thanks for your patience.

Hello.

Ok, we accept 1-2MB big ISO images on Savannah.
And it is not necessary to put GPL statements into .lst files if they are <10 lines and could be usefull for other people.

But please fix the left issues as well. Regards,

If my "isos" and "imgs" are bzip2ed and only have a size of less than 1 MB... (Around 500 KB). Maybe the source code may be more than 1 MB BUT less than 2MB. (Planning it to be smaller). Would it matter this kind of size?

I'm not planning on doing knoppix-like isos in the next future.

My main concern is about download bandwith, I wanted to host it in nongnu.org for not having these problems even if my files are so less-sized... why?

Because my project may get to be much popular.
IF I CANNOT HOST FILES (.ISO) THAT ARE LESS THAN 1 MB OR 2 MB... PLEASE PUT THIS PROJECT OUT. CANCEL MY SUBMISSION.
THANK YOU.

If I can...

I'll try to solve the GNU/Linux problem right now.
About the gifs I can't solve it right now... I will try it in one or two weeks time when I have more time.

About placing GPL license... do you think is it necessary that I place it in every .lst as a comment (in .lst files comments begin with #)? I think these files are too simple for the need of being GPLed, who would authorize to patent such stupid files?

Please give me advice on this problem about GPL on .lst files.

Hoping your free and quick answer...

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

At first, "Linux" is just a kernel of a more complex system that we like to refer to
as GNU/Linux, to emphasize the ideals of the Free Software movement.

Would you mind changing references to Linux as an OS to GNU/Linux?

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html.

At second, as mentioned in the registration pages, we do not host complete distros,
distros isos, packages repositories, etc, for space and bandwidth reasons.
We may just offer support for organisational purpose and in-house developed software (such as iso creation scripts).

How do you plan to use the Savannah services?

At third, please remove GIF image files from your project and replace them with an other format (such as PNG or JPEG).

Because of the patents (Unisys and IBM) covering the LZW compression algorithm which are used when making GIF files,
it's impossible to have free software to generate proper GIFs.  These patents also apply to the compress program.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.html.

At fourth, in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL,
available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.
To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards.

A new project has been registered at Savannah
The project account will remain inactive until a site admin approve or discard the registration.

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

  <https://savannah.nongnu.org/admin/groupedit.php?group_id=8261>

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
  Super Grub Disk

System Group Name:
-----------------
  supergrub

Type:
-----
  non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
  Purpose:
========
Main purpose is helping people to restore Grub on their MBR after a windows installation although Super Grub Disk has many features, all based on GNU GRUB, that make, thought easy menues, easy to do things as swap hard disks at the bios level or changing keyboard layouts.
Description:
============
Super Grub Disk is a bootable floppy or CDROM that is oriented towards system rescue, specifically for repairing the booting process. It can activate partitions, boot partitions, boot MBRs, boot your former OS (Linux or another one) by loading menu.lst from your hard disk, automatically restore Grub on your MBR, swap hard disks in the BIOS, and boot from any available disk device. It has multi-language support, and allows you to change the keyboard layout of your shell.
Technical details:
===================
Super Grub Disk is simply a Grub Disk with a lot of useful menus. Currently works with a patched 0.97 version of grub for fixing an annoying error called error 25.
Future of SGD:
==============
I am going to modify GNU GRUB in order to add variables support to grub, a new command called call (similar to source command in bash), and more other things to make SGD development easier.
SGD focus will move a little from original restore/fixing purpose to livecd/knoppix booting by giving menues for being able of choosing parametres that are passed to the linux kernel (the ones we see at /proc/cmdline).
Interesting urls:
=================
Super Grub Disk webpage:
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/
Source code available at:
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=4
Lots of screenshots:
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-galleries.php
Download Super Grub Disk:
http://adrian15.raulete.net/grub/tiki-file_galleries.php

Other Comments:
---------------
Currently I use tikiwiki as the web generator/engine. I've realised that it uses gif... if I have a web space with php capabilities I'll try to search for a non-gif scheme/template for it or... I'll have to switch to another web generator/engine.
