Uh, darn, I should read more carefully... Looks like I confused savannah.gnu.org and gna.org while looking at the offered services...

Since I want to use SVN instead of CVS it looks like I can't use your services anyway. Sorry about your time I wasted :(

Hello.

So how do you plan to use Savannah? We would still like to review your source code. How can we help you?

And by the way, we don't support SVN at the moment. :-/

As I said: I am still in the planning phase, there is no code to show at the moment. I just wanted to take care of things like a SVN repository before I start.

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code.
The description you gave when registering will not be read by the general public.
If you are still concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by email.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must include a copyright notice and
permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.  This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

Regards,

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
  SilentQuest

System Group Name:
-----------------
  silentquest

Type:
-----
  non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
SilentQuest is targeted to be a free clone of IdleRPG (http://idlerpg.net), an IRC fantasy role playing game written in Perl.
Players join a special IRC channel for the game, gain levels, find items, fight against each other, go on quests and participate in tournaments. The point of the game is that (after login) everything is done for you so you don't have to do anything yourself. In fact you are even punished for talking in the channel or various actions (quit, being kicked, nickchange).

It is planned to be compatible with configuration and data files of IdleRPG to make switching easier. While IdleRPG uses plain text files to save its data, support for MySQL databases is planned at a later point of the development of SilentQuest.

SilentQuest will be written in C++, using wxWidgets for multiplatform capabilities. While GNU/Linux is the main development platform support of *BSD, MacOS X and Microsoft Windows is planned at some time during the development. At the moment the game is still in the planning phase, so no code exists (yet).

My personal goal in this project is to learn more about C++ programming and the use of wxWidgets (and MySQL). Another one is that I like the original IdelRPG very much and host one game myself. While I ave some ideas about additions / changes of the original program it's unfree license stops me from implementing (and distributing) them.

Other Software Required:
------------------------
  wxWidgets: http://wxwidgets.org
MySQL: http://www.mysql.com
