Hello.

Thanks for quoting the GNU manual, that makes it easier for me to aggree with your point. ;-)

Everything looks fine to me.
So I have approved your project.  You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

Hello again.

I have specified in the manual that it doesen't include invariant sections, etc.

From the GNU standards, http://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/License-for-Manuals.html
"For a single short document, you can use a very permissive non-copyleft license, to avoid taking up space with a long license".

The FDL is almost three times larger than the Moe manual. I would prefer not to include it. Ddrescue and Ocrad do not include the FDL for exactly the same reason, their manuals are small, and no one had a problem with it.

Of course, I promise to include a copy of the FDL as soon as the Moe manual achieves enough size.

Hello.

First point: okay.

Second point: Please put the FDL in the COPYING file under ./doc/
not under ./ :-)

Third point: Only for records.

Look forward to your tarball.

Do you refer to these copyright notice and permission-to-copy statement in the top node of the file moe.info?

The Moe tarball already includes a file named 'COPYING' with the GPL in it. Where am I going to put the GPL then?

It only uses GNU libraries. Ncurses, libc and libstdc++. Why are you asking this? Did you have problems compiling it?

Antonio Diaz.

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

You documentation lacks information about copyright/license.
Maybe you would like to relase it under the FDL?

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the FDL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the title page of each work.

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL
(available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats)
as a section of your works , and as plain text in a file named 'COPYING' (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt).

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points,
including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

And which other external library does your project uses or any other required software?

Look forward to your updated tarball.

Full Name:

  Moe Editor

System Group Name:

  moe

Type:
-----
  Official GNU software

License:

GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
Moe is a powerful text editor for ISO-8859-15 and ASCII character
encodings. It has a modeless, user-friendly interface, online help,
unlimited undo-redo capability, unlimited line length, global
search/replace, duplicate removal from prompt histories...

Moe tries to rationalize the keyboard commands. The <Alt> key is used
for harmless commands like cursor movements and scrolling. The <Control> key is used for more "dangerous" commands like copying blocks, deleting lines, or exiting. In any case, the unlimited undo-redo capability of Moe makes very difficult to accidentally cause an irreparable damage to your files.

Moe uses the function keys, so that the most frequent commands can be
issued with only one finger. The function key <F1> shows the online
help, and <F10> allows you to change the options. Believe it or not,
this paragraph and a little experience with text editors is all you need to use Moe just as well as an expert. Forget about `learning curves'; there is nothing to learn.

Moe is fully functional, I use it to edit GNU Ocrad.

Moe can be found here: http://es.geocities.com/ant_diaz2001/moe-0.1-pre1.tar.gz
