There used to be a text at https://savannah.gnu.org/my/groups.php but it was disappeared after the last upgrade. This is fixed now :)

Hopefully it will take more than a shiny GUI to get you out of the free software movement ;)

Oh, and this issue should be closed now; but I wasn't able to quickly find how to do it.  See this is my point about user interface ;)

Thanks for the prompt reply.  I completely agree with your considerations, it's simply that the project in question is definitely not particularly important one, and neither it has been updated much since posting it on Savannah nor I think I'm going to have it updated much now; still on the other side I'd like to keep the code available, so Google Code proposition with SVN support and much simplified user interface seemed appropriate for me.  However, I wasn't aware of Gna hosting service, and it definitely looks like something worth examination.  In any case, thanks again and will get back to you in case removal of this project needed.

I am not sure, but it looks like Google Code is yet another platform you do not have the source code of. By contrast, Savannah uses the Savane platform to manage this website, which is free software and available at http://gna.org/projects/savane. If you can find the source code runnning code.google.com, please tell me where :)

For this reason, I suggest you have a look at http://gna.org which offers SVN and uses Savane as well.

Removing a project from Savannah is possible, just tell us when everything should be removed. Remember to migrate everything including mailing lists archives.

For further information on this issue, that is, why Savannah was created in the first place, feel free to check http://www.fsfeurope.org/news/2001/article2001-10-20-01.en.html

Am considering moving a project from Savannah to Google Code (Subversion beign main reason, simpler administration too), so - is it possible to have a project eventually completely removed from Savannah and how to accomplish it?  I searched trough support archives, but wasn't able to find definitive answer...

Thanks.
