Apparently you did not create your fencepost account. Tell us when that's done.

Afaics you don't have an account there yet, so I'll forward your request to -email is unavailable- (http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Preface.html).

OK, let's try to get my account working.
$ ssh fencepost.gnu.org
Permission denied (publickey).

Maybe the permissions of the ~haible/.ssh directory are too
open? Or the contents of that directory is wrong? I send you
my public ssh key by email.

Hmm, bug-gnu-utils should still work, that's no good. Apparently it's another list suffering from last month's data corruption or something.

You should definitely have access to fencepost.gnu.org, like most GNU maintainers. Aliases are in /com/mailer/aliases:
# gettext
bug-gnu-gettext:    bug-gnu-utils, -email is unavailable-
bug-gnu-gettext-request: -email is unavailable-
owner-bug-gnu-gettext:   -email is unavailable-
bug-gettext:        bug-gnu-gettext

Are you sure you do not have an account there?

There's no problem with creating the new mailing list but I'd rather have those points clear first.

Hi,

For years, bug-gnu-gettext at gnu dot org has been a mail alias
(created on mescaline.gnu.org long ago) that redirected mail
to 1. bug-gnu-utils and 2. me (Bruno Haible).

For a few days now, mails sent to bug-gnu-gettext receive a
delivery failure like this:

  -email is unavailable-
    (generated from bug-gnu-gettext@gnu.org)
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<bug-gnu-utils@gnu.org>:
    host mail.gnu.org [199.232.76.166]: 550 unknown user

No need to spend time fixing the old situation. Instead, could
you please simultaneously
1) Set up a bug-gettext mailing list belonging to the
http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/gettext project, including a
public archive area on lists.gnu.org. ("bug-gettext", not
"bug-gnu-gettext", in order to follow the common pattern for
mailing list names.)
2) Remove the mailing list alias for bug-gnu-gettext (I cannot do
that since I don't have rlogin access to GNU machines any more),
3) Make bug-gnu-gettext a mail alias for bug-gettext.

Thanks!

Bruno
