I'm adding a NOT patch file which does (I hope) what I mean.  It was either that, or `emacs` the executable, which seemed over-the-top.

N.B.: I'm not recommending these exact changes.  The errors in question come from `libtar.a` which doesn't include `common.h`, so I recklessly put the necessary `#define` statements.  I'm only including the `patch` so you can use it for reference.

Surely I can't be the first person to request an additional option to suppress the fantastically annoying "tar: Removing leading `/' from member names" messages.

I'm guessing something in --warning=keyword as described in section "3.9 Controlling Warning Messages".

What stuns me is that this wasn't the first warning added when the option was introduced.

Thanks for your consideration.


p.s. Using `-C /` isn't an option since I'm doing backups, and by definition, my tar statement includes an absolute path.
