Sorry, I'm probably coming in the wrong door here; this isn't really a request.  But it looks like an easy way to share some files with you.

I just retired from 21 years of elementary school teaching.  Along the way, I cobbled together some programs that might charitably be described as 'school utilities.'  They are intended to provide a bit of extra practice at specific skills or concepts that have been already taught.  (We're talking 2nd - 4th graders here.)  The idea is to have each of them continuously running on its own virtual terminal so as to be available as needed when some kid gets done early or otherwise has a couple of spare minutes.

I am attaching a binary for one of these programs, which I have named 'say.when'; it gives practice reading and setting traditional clocks.  It's pretty much self explanatory except for one thing:  to set the clock, use the > and < keys.  I have two other programs that are ready for use.  One gives practice comparing magnitudes of numbers and ordering them by size.  The other spells out numerals up to 9999 and has the student enter them using numbers.  Sounds simple, but it can be a challenge to eight-year-olds.

There are some other programs under way, including a functional clone for Accelerated Reader.  This site apparently accepts only a single attachment, but if you'd like to see any of this other stuff (including source code, of course).  Give me an address and I'll send it by my ordinary e-mail

                              Sincerely,
                              John Slayton
