Most projects within the GNU project have their documentation available online in many formats from http://www.gnu.org/manual/manual.html . It seems that the FSF have some script for automatically generating all these formats from the project's texinfo and/or docbook sources. The fact that GCL does not have documentation available through the World Wide Web is something that increases the threshold for potential new users.
