Mon 12 Apr 2004 10:27:15 AM UTC, original submission:

I am not able to compile ver. 0.7.20 under cygwin. With version 0.7.14 it worked, at least the CLI FEs do so.

./configure says:

checking for xml2-config... /usr/bin/xml2-config
checking for libxml - version >= 2.3.8... no

      • Could not run libxml test program, checking why...
      • The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
      • exact error that occured. This usually means LIBXML was incorrectly installed
      • or that you have moved LIBXML since it was installed. In the latter case, you
      • may want to edit the xml2-config script: /usr/bin/xml2-config

I installed libxml (newest one available by cygwin), but it seems the configure script doesn't find it.

checking for pkg-config... no

      • The pkg-config script could not be found. Make sure it *** is in your path, or set the PKG_CONFIG environment
      • variable to the full path to pkg-config.

There is an EXISTING variable containing exactly what configure requests.

I also compiled and installed libcdio.
Do you have any hints?
