The problem is fixed long time ago, I have built gnu arch versions 1.2-1.3 on Mac OS X 10.3.

1.1 builds fine on OS X 10.2.8 using latest developer tools from Apple.

test-redo fails in 1.1pre7 due to portability bug in the test code - the redo commnand does work on Mac OS X.

A patch was commited and I guess will be available in the next version.

"make test" fail.
It need latest tar.
But even if latest tar is installed, "make test" fail at redo test.

In order to build on Mac OS X you need to set an environment vaiable, probabally due to a bug in Apple build tools.

I don't have a clue about autotools and how to merge this into the configure script, but the minimum that should be done is add a note about this in the =INSTALL file, like this:

-----------------------------------------------------------
Notes:

Mac OS X - you might need to run setenv CFLAGS -no-cpp-precomp before you run make.
