This problem doesn't exist with more recent snapshots; the underlying code has been changed to properly label its memory usage.

If this is a problem for you, please use a recent snapshot (e.g. 20060414) instead.

my system:
GeForce 6200 TC 64MB PCI Express
Dfi 925x-t2
Pentium 4 630 3.0GHz 2MB LGA775
(PC2-4200 DDR2-533 512MB)*2
Serial ATA 120GB
Win XP PRO SP2 (DEP set to Opt-OUT)

the issue:
i have windows running with DEP set to opt out mode. i downloaded the Windwos Binary Stable release 7.7.1, and installed fine, but the scheme.exe always threw an exception whenever i tried to run it, and it kept giving me "MIT Scheme Exception: There is no trap handeler for recovery! >> the trap is an ACCESS_VIOLATION trap." after reading through all the documentation i could find on how to install and bugs and what not i still came up short. but then i rememberd that i set up to opt-out on dep. so i went to (right click on "my computer")>properties>advanced tab>settings button>"Data Execute Prevention" tab>"add button" and added scheme.exe to the list. after that MIT Scheme hasn't given me any troubles.

you should add a note into the instalation instructions stateing that MIT Scheme needs to be added onto the DEP exception list so that it doesn't cause anyone else head aches.

ps. this may also apply to other OS's implementing this feature.
