Thanks for reporting this, meanwhile we are already at version 1.7.
So maybe best to let the debian maintainers know to upgrade the version.

Kind regards,

Hi,

I'm not sure if the 1.6.5 branch is being maintained. I'm using 1.6.5.90-3+b1 as shipped with Debian 12 (amd64).

I was getting a segfault with a script that was running daily and I've isolated it to particular sequence of data inserted into a template (attached) run with the command:

/usr/bin/enscript --header='HEADER' --header-font=Helvetica-Bold14 --word-wrap --escapes --no-job-header -DDuplex:true -DTumble:true --media=Letter --columns=2 --borders --output=- --font=Courier12 < checklist.broke

The problem with the input isn't obvious to me, as lines above and below this one look very similar, but this is a minimal reproducer.  Somebody with a better understanding of the program may be able to see what's wrong.

I compiled the current git version and it does not suffer a segfault with this input data.  I figured I'd report a bug since segfaults from arbitrary user input can lead to other problems down the line (this is used in a system-wide printing pipeline).

If 1.6.5 is not maintained I could just report it to the Debian maintainer as a theoretical security concern.

Thanks.
