There is a color picker which allows function names containing ::, /, or . to be selected and assigned a fixed color (ctrl+shift+F).   The colors chosen for an experiment apply to  flamegraph and timeline views.  They are persistent for the experiment. 

Adding an option to automatically selecting source language base colors would be a plus. Gradients of the base color for different functions of same source language would also help.

It would be great if we could use different colors for Java and native parts of the flame graph. See [1] for how async-profiler does this.
