Procmail is unmaintained, and STUMP recipes, including article post-approval and post-rejection processing, use Procmail recipe scripts (including under /etc/procmail). Panix, which hosts many moderator STUMP installations, may be decommissioning Procmail in the medium-term future, though no firm date to do so (or identified replacement candidate).

In the merge-in-STUMP branch of WebSTUMP there are some functions that use perl libraries to do what is done using formail in some of the STUMP shell scripts. They probably need some work but could give some ideas of how to move off procmail at least for the places where it is used inside STUMP.
