As far as I can see, the  issue is in the export to html and is still present in the current sources.

For now, I'd suggest you process your matches in two steps :
first, import / analyze / save to sgf / add to database
That should allow the possibly long analyses above to complete.
And then, load from sgf / export to html
That should allow you to put aside the matches that trigger the crash and export the others without wasting too much time.

Thank you for your fast answer.

I'm sorry, 1.05 is the right version.

The crash comes every time relatively quickly in my 200+ set.

But I found the single .mat file which produces the crash, nearly at the end of the the 800+ moves.

After the "stack smashing detected" comes the line "Aborted (core dumped)" - but I don't know, where to find the core dump.

Is the indicated release right ? 0.15, really ? Or the 1.05 version provided by ubuntu ?

By 7-12 do you mean it doesn't always crash in the same match, but it does every time and relatively quickly in your 200+ matches set ?

Doesn't it print more than the "stack smashing detected" line ? A few lines starting with "==== Backtrace: ====" for instance.

gnubg crashes after 7-12 analyzed matches on Ubuntu 16.04 with the message
"*** stack smashing detected *: gnubg terminated"

The command is:

~$ gnubg -t -q -c gnubg-batch-export.cfg

An example is in the attached file.
