I will have to look at it. It is possible it is XP related since I don't see that issue on Win7 and Win8. Is there anything in particular you were doing. For instance did you happen try to cancel a long analysis and exit by hitting the close button in the upper right of the GNUbg window?

When I save (game/match), about 3 times/4 program crashes: either a Windows dialog box appears («gnubg.exe had a problem and must close...») [then I click ok and the program closes], OR the program simply closes. In that case, saving is not done and changes are lost.
Rarely, it can take seconds [after saving] before it crashes, or it does when I click on «Open». In that case, saving IS done.
Maybe is it my old windows xp sp3(?), I don't know
