I've used MTASC to generate Flash 8 file that tries to create
a HTML TextField that contains some simple HTML tags (bold text),
and character entity references (&name; &#xhhhh; &#nnnn;).

When played on Adobe Flash Player 9, bold text and
character entity references were displayed correctly.

But on Gnash, apart from bold text being displayed as plain one,
the entity reference codes were displayed literally.

This is a correct result from Adobe Flash Player 9.
You'd see that character entity references were correctly displayed.

This is an image result from Gnash 0.8.10.
You'd see that character entity references code were shown uninterpreted.
