I just tried using this tool for converting RTF to LaTeX. (Running on Arch Linux x86_64.) It didn't work at all, since all backslashes were not preserved into the output, put were instead stripped out as escaped characters. Thus, for example, what should appear in the output as "\normalsize" became a linebreak ("\n") followed by ormalize. As a result, not a single LaTeX code was preserved. I was able to get around this by doubling all the backslashes in latex.conf, but this should really be looked at more carefully in the main branch.

There are some other problems with LaTeX conversion, such as the obsolete use of \it and \bf rather than \textit and \textbf, the misuse of \center as if it took an argument rather than was used within the entire scope of its application, and so on.
