Hi Mario,

I'm really sorry! I forgot to update my local mercurial repository so the files were not updated. They are now, I attached them to this submission.

Thanks for your work

Hi.

I don't see any update in the license headers, they still contain
"@license For license information see file COPYING in project
root-directory." instead of the license itself or the URL.

Maybe the file hasn't been sucefully updated on server side.  Could
please check?.  You can also attach the file to this tracker if you
wish: https://savannah.gnu.org/task/?10379#attached.

Hi Mario,

I updated my code. Now a complete copy of the license is found in each code file. Also added some very basic functionality.

Hi Lukas.

Yes, you can chose any free software license compatible with the GNU
GPL (At least with latest version). The Zlib license is a valid
choise.

Please include either a copy of the Zlib license in each file or a URL
link to the license (http://www.gzip.org/zlib/zlib_license.html) in
order to ensure the users know their rights in the case somone copies
a file form this project, but not the file containing the license.

Please apply this change an provide a updated tarball. You can either
attach it to the tracker or use an external hosting and provide a
*direct* download URL.

Regards.

Hi Mario,

I don't want to license my project under the GNU GPL. I favor the zlib/libpng license, and all copyrightable files include such a note + there is a file COPYING in project root. zlib/libpng license is also compatible to GNU GPL.

But as far as i know you are allowed to host project under non GPL license on savannah as long as they are compatible right?

Thanks

Hi Lukas.

In order to release the software properly and unambiguously under the
GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy
statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any
file more than 10 lines long.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the
plain text version of the GPL, available from
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

If some of your files cannot carry such notices (e.g. binary files),
then you can add a README file in the same directory containing the
copyright and license notices. Check
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for
further information.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.  To learn
why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code,
for example, see
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Thanks in advance.

Here is very basic source code for this project:

http://x4rd3n.bplaced.net/gdx.tar.gz

It does not contain any functionality at all. Just a very basic file structure, with build configuration some example code and doxygen configuration. It compiles but it doesn't do anything.

Hi.

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in GNU Savannah.
You can reach the rest Savannah hackers (Staff) in this list:
http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/savannah-hackers-public.

Please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source
code. Alternatively, you can forward the code to me by email or attach
it to this tracker.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to
catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GNU GPL you
must include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at
the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than
10 lines long.  This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help
catch potential omissions such as these.

Note that sending code to our repositories is a release, since the
code will then be publicly available through anonymous access.
