OK thanks, I see my bug fix suggestion was considered in the devel branch.

Think about why the savannah admins might want to link to the releases
branch, since that is the one most people want, while still making the
development branch easily available.

You need to pay attention to what those commits are and look at the branches.

The description is as definitive as you want to make it.

It means that I made a change locally and pushed it to the bash devel
branch with the next set of changes.

You seem easily offended. Take a breath, then check

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/bash.git/?h=devel

I recognize, there are two git logs:

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/bash.git/log/?h=devel

and

https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/bash.git/log/

and the latter does contain much less entries that the former, but the latter is linked on https://savannah.gnu.org/git/?group=bash

This is really a shitty mess man, whatever nerdy geeky intellectual concept might stand behind it.

OK I  just saw that there where only 40 to 50 commits in the last 4(four) years to the GNU Bash Git repo, so I understand the GNU Bash project is merely dead. I wish you a good sleep then. Rest in peace.

Here I can say to you how my reaction on your post was:

- OK great, my issue is set to "done", so they have done my change request. Cool

- Let's answer the guy on his question why I did not provide a description of my change than a link to a pull requeat, that "Description is vague, pull request is definitive."

- Before, let's see in the GNU Savannah git log what they have changed.

- I see, nothing in the GNU Savannah git log has changed (see screenshot)

- I am shocked. Does that mean the guy has set the issue to "done" by requesting one should "describe" the wanted change instead of providing a link to a definitive pull request? And they even do not offer a convenient way to provide a pull request on their own source code repo?

Really, WTF

Guys, I am a HUGE fan of Open Free Source as you can see I even try to commit to bash repo for the better. I use only Linux since 20 years.

But all you do is preventing participation of community and to prevent transparency. And you behave ignorant and arrogant.  Thumbs down.

How about just posting a description of the change you want here, instead of asking people to look at a pull request?

I have read
https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/UsingGit/

It makes a very complicated oldschool intransparent impression to me and not only discourages me to contribute, but I really have no idea how to get a account and if that would be approved and how to create a pull request known from Github.

My impression is that Savannah GNU is not really interestest in easy participation of community.

Here is a github clone of the GNU Bash repo. There I created this pull request:
https://github.com/bminor/bash/pull/8

Please make this change in your repository.
