No news... I mean... I was not able to connect.

Since all the time I've spent trying to connect and no one can help because of "that" operating system... well, I shall ask to delete my project and account from Savannah to not waste this server space.

Thanks all,

Marco

Absolutely agree! :-) And I'm trying too! As someone said before, I want to break free... ;-)

I hope I'll be able to delete this OS to use the correct one as soon as possible but at the moment I'm trying to make Mercurial/Savannah couple running here...

I'll keep this entry update with news.

I think the better would be if you teach GNU/Linux to your parents,
the point in free software movement is not only to be free, but to
make anothers free.

GNU/Linux can be easier to learn from scratch than W if correctly
teached, apart from the widely known technical benefits.

Thanks. I'll try again to ask the Mercurial team.

Unfortunately it's more than two months that I have to use "that" OS... Parents are learning to use PC and they've bought a Vista-based couple of (actually well done) self-learning book... :-/

Hi,

We don't use "ms woe", so you'll have better chance asking people who do, such as the mercurial people.
Being stuck under vista temporarily for 2 months is truly a pity.

I'm still not yet able to use TortoiseHg/Mercurial from Windows (Vista) to connect to Savannah project repository... any idea?

I think that if I won't be able to connect I shall ask to delete my project and account and so on... :_(

Forgot a detail; I'm using (read from the about box)

TortoiseHg version 0.9
with Mercurial-1.4, Python-2.5.4, PyGTK-2.12.1, GTK-2.16.1

Nice idea! ;-) Actually I was using GNU/Linux only since a lot of time and my goal will be to re-install GNU/Linux (thinking about gNewSense or the good ol' Debian) but now I'm stuck on Vista since I have to help parents to learn using PC... and they've unfortunately bought a couple of books Vista-based... :-(
  And not enough room for a vbox... :( Also, a live GNU/Linux requires everytime to "restore" the configuration and so.

I'd love to go on with my lil' project on this stupid OS as well (at least for a while), and obviously update the project repository here too... if possible. :-(

How about running GNU/Linux within QEMU or VirtualBox? :]

Sure. Here they are my steps:
1. opened command prompt as administrator user;
2. "cd"ed inside the repository directory (same level as ".hg" directory;
3. checked repository config file to be sure about content (see previous attachment);
4. ran "hg serve -A access.log -E error.log" at 21.33;
...

...
5. no news/changes or output (neither in the logs) at 21.50 but command apparently still running (no exit firewall on hg, obviously);

------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------

Second attempt:
1. opened command prompt as administrator user;
2. "cd"ed inside the repository directory (same level as ".hg" directory;
3. checked repository config file to be sure about content (see previous attachment);
4. ran "hg push -v --debug" at 21.40;
5. output is:

sto eseguendo ""C:\Program Files\TortoiseHg\TortoisePlink.exe" -ssh -2 -email is unavailable- "hg -R scacchi3d serve --stdio""
sending hello command
sending between command
abortito: nessuna risposta accettabile dall'hg remoto!

where "sto eseguendo" means "I'm running" and "abortito: nessuna risposta accettabile dall'hg remoto!", according to the translation file the actual English message is: "no suitable response from remote hg".

------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------

Instead, using TortoiseHg "push" command I see an error popup dialog saying "Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available". Same for "incoming", "push" and "outgoing" modifications commands.

------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------

Any idea? :-(

I've also tried following these instructions http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/SshAccess but no success... working on the problem.

Thanks for any help.

Sun 22 Nov 2009 09:15:44 AM UTC, original submission:

My project have just been approved and I'm trying to properly configure TortoiseHg (since I'm temporarily stuck on Windows Vista...) to update the Savannah repository with my local one.

Reading here http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/UsingHg and the other Mercurial and Tortoise docs, I've prepared this attached configuration file that is placed inside the .hg directory of the repository.
  Seems correct, to me.

So, I'm trying to push the modifications on Savannah, and I receive this message: "Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available".
  I've received, the first time I tried, the SSH connection message (key and so on) but since I was busy doing too many things, I've not read it and I've also probably mistyped the login name, that time, so I would like to try by removing the already registered SSH and trying again.
  Any idea on how to do this on this damn OS? (No, can't install gNewSense right now, unfortunately...)

Also, is the hg file correct?
