Sure, I can implement what I need through a specific menu item.

Yet, beyond my punctual need, I think it would be nice to have a more or less centralized and standardized UI for plugins preferences, just like other TeXmacs preferences.

I hope there can be provisions for such plugins preference widgets in the overhaul of the preferences widget system.

There will be an overhaul of the way the preferences widgets work while working on more modern side panes.  So having a complex temporary system for just one plug-in might be overkill.
Maybe simply add a hook to the 'Tools' menu (say after 'Statistics') to add a few extra items such as 'Inkscape -> Preferences...'.

An additional tab "plugins" is displayed in the preferences only when such a widget has been defined.

I did this to be able to reimplement as a plugin what I had done after Albufeira and which I just removed in r13844. In this old code, the installation of the extension in inkscape was brutal and, anyway, this extension needed to be updated for a while. In the upcoming plugin, the preference widget will offer the feature settings (like the inkscape extension installation) and direct access to the plugin doc.

I guess it could be useful for many other plugins too.
