The output of the `which` command on the terminal is very verbose at the moment, drowning other information. I would suggest silencing it by default (see attached patch). |

OK, I solved the problem in a different way in revision 13824. Please confirm whether it works for you.
I don't remember why I wanted to report messages from 'which'. With the new solution, we will still see the output if something strange happens.
