Zou, we tracked the regression down to these commits:

2008-04-23 Zou Lunkai <zoulunkai@gmail.com>

        * server/swf/PlaceObject2Tag.cpp: execute(), use the DLIST tag directly
          instead of passing every single field.
        * server/sprite_instance.{h,cpp}: add_display_object(), move_display_object(),
          replace_display_object(), pass the DLIST tag directly instead of the verbose
          interface. still a halfway work.

2008-04-23 Zou Lunkai <zoulunkai@gmail.com>

        * server/swf/PlaceObject2Tag.h: add some member functions
          to access the private data.

That's between "2008-04-23 09:00" and "2008-04-23 10:00".

0.8.2 worked fine for both 1. and 2. too.
The button color seems related to timeline control (ie: the button are supposed to be that dark yellow while loading, then turn white)

Important (being a regression).

At time of this commit:

2008-04-23 Benjamin Wolsey <bwy@benjaminwolsey.de>

        * server/movie_root.h, server/asobj/Stage.cpp:
          it's exactFit, not exactFill.

it already fails.

It's shibakou_game.swf here (had it locally).
SWF6
md5: 52acf06af8510ceef797ddc122609d19

I confirm it used to work fine (at least for 3.)
1. and 2. I didn't notice before, so dunno if they worked
or not, but I confirm gnash gets it wrong with reguard
to the proprietary player.

Also, I note it take a lot to load (but could be just me
building with -DGNASH_PARANOIA_LEVEL=2)

A recent commit (1-2 days ago) caused this game to fail in a number of ways: http://shingakunet.com/special/16608701/0285/index.html

1. IIRC the item buttons should be white and not orange when they are not selected.
2. Try to click on the screw for example, it should disappear from the item slot.
3. When the screw is drawn in the 3d world it shouldn't be white.
