Hi,

I don't have a Windows system to test on, but on my Linux system, the --wait command works perfectly.

Regarding your issue with --random-wait, according to the man page, you should also specify a --wait=n value. Since random wait tries to randomly sleep for a time between 0.5 and 1.5 * wait
seconds.

However, since it seems to be working perfectly fine on linux systems, my assumption is this is a platform specific issue. While Wget has limited support for Windows systems, we do not actively support it, since most of us don't have access to such systems. Similarly, we do not release any official binaries of GNU Wget for Windows systems.

Hi,

I have tried to use wget for downloading the program from web page where the connection was cut after few kB were downloaded. So the use of continuous retrying and waiting in between became crucial. I have used the command:
wget.exe -t0 -c --wait=10 http://download2.portableapps.com/portableapps/pdf-xchangeviewerportable/PDF-XChangeViewerPortable_2.5.214.2.paf.exe

I have done it on Windows XP with wget compiled by Jernej Simomcic from web page
http://eternallybored.org/misc/wget/
with versions 1.13.4 and 1.15.
This command however did not include the waiting pause between particular trials and immediately started a new trial which led to denial of connection from the downloading server. This command worked OK with versions 1.9.1 and 1.11.4. However the option --random-wait seemed not to work in these versions either.

I have also tried the dynamically linked compilation of wget program, there seemed to be a little pause included (versions 1.13.4 and 1.15) but it did not work correctly either.

I do not know if this issue appears on other platforms than the Windows one, at the moment I do not have the opportunity to test it. Thank you for your help.

Pavel

P.S.: Is there any official binary download of the latest program version for Windows? I would prefer the statically linked (i.e. everything in one binary .exe file). Thank you!
