In the bug https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?66224 we have:

cp: cannot open '/boot/vmlinuz-5.15.0-121-generic' for reading: Permission denied
supermin: cp -p '/boot/vmlinuz-5.15.0-121-generic' '/var/tmp/.guestfs-1000/appliance.d.l8cmz9oc/kernel': command failed, see earlier errors

This needs to be investigated to understand if it's a packaging issue in Trisquel 11 or not.

Here this is important for GNU Boot because:

  • Guix's diffoscope is too limited: it doesn't have libguestfs support, so we end up with hex diffs for things like filesystem changes.
  • Parabola diffoscope supports libguestfs but Parabola is harder to install (Trisquel's debootstrap is in Guix, we also have code to generate Trisquel VM with qemu+preseed in GNU Boot, etc).
