Seems to be fixed in current beta versions.

thanks

following your advice, I opened TeXmacs from the mounted directory (I had to "allow" the operations in the security settings, since the dmg file is from an "unknown source")

running from the command line, I get the following:
```
Welcome to TeXmacs 2.1.4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation completed successfully !
I will now start up the editor
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
zsh: segmentation fault  ./TeXmacs
```
and the popup "TexMacs quit unexpectedly" appears

oddly, if I wait a few minutes, then (sometimes) the situation resolves, and TeXmacs opens
note, I downloaded the dmg file for M1 cpus, my Mac has an M1 pro

Hello,

Can you try to remove your .TeXmacs folder containing the cache and the configuration of TeXmacs? Follow these steps:
1. Open a terminal.
2. Write this command: `rm -rf ~/.TeXmacs`
3. Then try relaunching TeXmacs.

If you want to see the logs of TeXmacs, follow these steps:
1. Unmount any DMG of TeXmacs in the Finder.
2. Double-click on the DMG of TeXmacs you want to debug to mount it.
3. Open a terminal.
4. Write this command: `/Volumes/TeXmacs/TeXmacs.app/Contents/MacOS/TeXmacs`
5. You should see the logs of TeXmacs.

thanks for the suggestion
I uninstalled the brew version, and installed the dmg file (for ARM, since my mac has an M1 cpu)
the app wouldn't start, and kept popping the window (reopen/ignore/send)
After about 5 minutes, it finally "agreed" to open

is there any way to diagnose what is going on?

Hello,

The brew package is not an official package. Do you have the same problem if you use the DMG from https://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/download/macosx.en.html ?

You can also try to use the last beta version here : http://ftp.texmacs.org/TeXmacs/dev/testing/20240503/

installed texmacs with brew
after installation, I have to "allow" the app to run in the settings/privacy section
this allows the app to run, but after a while it somehow crashes (circling the colored cursor)
after this initial crash, I'm no longer able to start the app
the only resolution is to uninstall and reinstall it (with brew)

note: I'm using the latest version of macos (14.5)
