In some documents, the vertical line delimiters, as used to denote absolute values, is too short, with symbols protruding from the bottom.
This behaviour appears to depend on the delimiters present in the rest of the document. The issue seems to be triggered by very large parentheses (see attached example). Removing these removes the problem.
Once triggered in one document, the problem seems to propagate to other documents without large delimiters that aren't problematic on their own.
