I forgot to precise that software was reporting speed limitation accepted :
Attempting to set speed to 1x...
drive returned OK.

Hi,

I tried to rip with cd-paranoia 2.0.0 by indicating a low speed

cd-paranoia --force-read-speed 1

On my two systems, it is running at full speed.

I also tried : sudo mmc-tool --speed-X=1
I didn't see any effect. It is as noisy as 32x
