It was not easy to choose between master and "good knowledge" for GNU/Linux but I'm something in a middle of both. :)
I first started in pauses on elementary school with small useless rem/print BASIC programs (GW-BASIC and a little BASICA). The next language was QuickBASIC v4.5. Meanwhile I started coding small scripts in BTM (Norton DOS 8.0 batch scripts). After I bought a new PC I continued with W95/W98-FE. But in the "Computer Club Elmshorn" I first saw Linux and I was very impressed how stable and "non-standart-looking" it had. On that time I had no idea that around 10 years later I will be fully "converted" to Linux...
But SuSE 5.3 shall be the beginning of all. The next OS was Debian due to heavy compiling problems with FlightGear under SuSE. And so it still remains until today has my only and only-one OS. :) Surely I touch other GNU Linux'es but I will never let it happen that I shall install "Microsuck WinSilly" (Win-Doof in German) on my personal computers to "meet with basic requirements" !
