This backend will be usefull for people with non-accelerated hardware, enabling them to play the game fluently. Besides graphics driver are always a mess as far as Freedom is concerned (nvidious...) so having the program non dependant on those is important. There are some free drivers, but not for all hardware in accelerated mode. |

Corresponding source code
This item used to be called "Implement a mod-legacy" graphics backend.
As of today, the framework is here, src/gfx/mod-soft does exists, and some SDL code has been mutualized, now the backend is not written yet. It should also be helpful to have it as an example, a good start to write other backends.
