The meaning of the setting ‘bongo-insert-intermediate-headers’ is rather simple in theory, but not very good in practice. Two albums by the same artist will get an intermeiate header, but a singleton album will not get one. This often results in an ugly library.
Therefore, it should be possible to specify that even singleton albums should get intermediate artist headers. One way to enable this is to let the user specify which fields should always get a dedicated header when externalized. Let’s say using a customizable variable ‘bongo-dedicated-fields’. One could then set this to contain a single element ‘artist’ to get the desired result.
That solution calls for replacing ‘bongo-insert-intermediate-headers’ with something like ‘bongo-join-inserted-sections’ (to mirror ‘bongo-join-inserted-tracks’), which would be on by default and cause Bongo to join this
